Several People Shot At Houston-area College Campus


A shooting at a Houston-area college has wounded at least three people.

The incident happened at approximately 12:45 p.m. at Lone Star Community in North Harris County, near Bush Intercontinental Airport.

According to CBS affiliate KHOU, two suspects are in custody and law enforcement officials are saying everyone involved has been rounded up.

Earlier a witness said she heard several gunshots and two people were shot outside the building.   She says students, faculty and staff were evacuated to the library then outside.

Authorities say the shooting was the result of an altercation between two people, and at least one was a student.

Harris County Sheriff's Maj. Armando Tello says both people involved in the altercation were wounded and hospitalized. He says a college maintenance man was injured in the crossfire and also taken to a hospital.

Tello says a female who had a student ID also was hospitalized for a medical complication.
