Police: Serial Burglar Arrested In North Austin

Police say they arrested a man in North Austin for burglary who admitted to over 20 more burglaries under questioning.

Last Monday, just after midnight, Austin police officers responded to a burglary call in the 8700 block of Bridgeport Drive, directly south of Payton Gin Road and east of North Lamar Boulevard.

The burglary victim was able to give officers a good description of the suspect, and Victor Solano-Rojas, 31, who matched the description, was detained while walking in the neighborhood. The male turned out to be the burglar.

Police say that while Solano-Rojas was being interviewed by detectives he admitted to 29 other burglaries during which he stole large amounts of money as well as jewelry.  He then showed detectives multiple locations where the stolen property was sold.

Police say three search warrants were executed on some of those locations on Wednesday and stolen items (pictured) were recovered.

Anyone with more information is asked to call the APD Burglary Unit at 512-974- 6941.
