Antone's To Move From Downtown Austin
The legendary blues club Antone's is leaving Downtown Austin -- at least for now.
Antone's will close its doors at Fifth Street and Lavaca Street after South by Southwest in March.
Susan Antone, sister of founder Clifford Antone, says it could possibly relocate to East Riverside. She cited parking issues and increasing residential developments downtown for the move.
But managers are in talks with several other downtown property owners to perhaps return in the future.
Antone's opened its doors in 1976. This will be the fifth time it has relocated.
