UT Allows Newsstand at Journalism School

(AP) The University of Texas had decided a newsstand was just too environmentally risky for its journalism school building. Now, UT has reconsidered its stand.
 
The newsstand opened up at the main entrance to the Belo Center for New Media, where the UT journalism school is based.
 
Wanda Cash is the journalism school's assistant director. She says school administrators cited environmental concerns in September when it refused to let the student newspaper, The Daily Texan, place news boxes in front of the building. The administration reconsidered last month and allowed the boxes
 
College of Communication Dean Roderick Hart tells The Daily Texan the school will provide about 10 copies of city newspapers free to students daily.
