Male Birth Control Pills Could Be On The Way
Women have been taking them for decades -- now researchers at the Baylor College of Medicine say they're close to perfecting birth control pills for men.
Doctor Matzuk says the pills are a medical breakthrough. Hundreds of others have tried to create birth control pills for men but have failed because of harmful side effects.
"I'll tell you what it didn't do, which is very important. It did not affect the libido of the animals," Dr. Matzuk says about the pills effect on research animals.
He says more research is needed before the pills hit a pharmacy near you, but clinical trials could begin in about five years.
