Dispute Over Woman Leads To Central Texas' Latest Murder
Officers across Central Texas are looking for man accused of killing his wife's boyfriend Monday.
Roy Rogers Soliz (pictured), 58, is charged with first degree murder in the death of 38-year-old Christopher Carson.
The shooting happened at Master Tech Automotive on Howard Lane just west of I-35.
According to an arrest affidavit, Soliz's wife Cynthia said Carson was her boyfriend. She and her husband were separated.
Carson dropped her off for work. Roy Soliz was inside the business with a gun and said, "I told you I was going to do this" then shot him, the affidavit said. Soliz also told his wife if she told anyone, he would come back and kill her, police say.
Carson died at a Round Rock hospital.
Soliz is considered armed and dangerous, but because he knew the victim and the homicide was not a random act of violence, the Travis County Sheriff's Office says the public is not in immediate danger. However, the public should not approach him and should call 911 if they come into contact with him.
Investigators believe Soliz may still be somewhere in the Austin-area.
