Oprah Reveals Details Of Lance Armstrong Interview

CBS News has learned Lance Armstrong finally admitted using performance enhancing drugs during an interview with Oprah Winfrey.

The talk show host spoke about the interview exclusively on CBS This Morning.

Oprah Winfrey told CBS This Morning that the Austinite did not come clean in the manner she expected. But that the disgraced cycling champion answered the doping allegations against him.

"The answers that people around the world have been waiting to hear were answered and I have to say I was satisfied," Winfrey said.

For decades Armstrong has strongly denied allegations that he used performance enhancing drugs and dared anyone who challenged him to prove it.

"I think he was just ready. I think the velocity of everything that has come at him in the past several months, in particular, the past several weeks, and he was just ready," Winfred said.

Winfrey appeared on the show with her close friend CBS This Morning Anchor Gayle King.

The U.S. Anti-Doping Agency stripped Armstrong of his Tour titles last year after an exhaustive investigation.

Legal expert say Armstrong's admission now leaves him open to lawsuits and possible criminal charges.

The interview will air over two nights on Oprah’s OWN network starting on Thursday night.
