1 Dead In South Travis County Wreck
One person died this morning in a traffic crash near the Circuit of the Americas track.
It happened at approximately 6:30 a.m. Friday on the SH 130 access road and FM 812.
The Texas Department of Public Safety says a pickup truck was travelling westbound on FM 812 when it crashed head-on into a garbage truck in the eastbound lane that was attempting to enter northbound SH 130.
The driver of the pickup truck, identified as 49-year-old Overall Larry Allen, was pronounced dead at the scene.
DPS says police received calls before the crash reporting the truck as driving recklessly.
