Homeowners Escape Northwest Austin House Fire
Austin firefighters responded to an early morning house fire in Northwest Austin.
The fire broke out just after 7 a.m. at 7207 Nine Oaks Cove, off of Spicewood Springs Road near Caraway Elementary School and Oak View Park.
Officials say the first fire units at the scene reported heavy fire in the garage of a two story home.
KEYE's Adam Bennett talked to the homeowners. A man, his wife and their dog out of the fire safely. EMS did not have to treat anyone at the scene. The homeowner said he smelled smoke and then saw the flames when he inspected the attic.
The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
