Pistorius Says He Thought Girlfriend Was A Robber

Paralympic runner Oscar Pistorius broke down in tears inside a South Africa courtroom this morning.  No TV cameras were allowed during the bail hearing, which comes on the same day as the funeral for his girlfriend…the woman he's accused of killing.

Police brought track star and murder suspect Oscar Pistorius back to a South African court for a bail hearing.

Prosecutors say he should stay in jail for the shooting death of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

The Paralympic runner cried in a closed courtroom as prosecutors accused him of premeditated murder.

They say Pistorius put on his prosthetic legs and walked across the room before firing four shots at his girlfriend through a locked bathroom door.

Pistorius says he shot his girlfriend, thinking she was a robber.

Family members of the super model held her funeral today in the South African city of Port Elizabeth.

Adam Steenkamp, the victim’s brother said, “There's a space missing inside all the people she knew that can't be filled again.”

Pistorius' family calls Steenkamp's death a tragic accident.

They say the sprinter, known as the Blade Runner for his prosthetic legs, is not a killer. They say he is a sportsman who acted on instinct.

Pistorius' family says the runner shot Steenkamp inside his upscale home, because he thought she was an intruder.

Unconfirmed reports say police found a bloody cricket bat at the crime scene.

Pistorius' agent says the double-amputee has canceled all future races.

It's a tragic circumstance and events that is unfolded and we can only give Oscar our support at this point in time,” said Agent Peet Van Zyl.

Steenkamp had been dating Pistorius for several months.

Her family says they want to know why their beautiful daughter had to die.
