Gas Prices Up Another 5 Cents In Austin


Gas prices in the Austin area jumped another five cents in the last week.

The current average price is $3.41.  The statewide average is $3.43, according to the AAA Texas Weekend Gas Watch.  

Drivers in Dallas and Fort Worth are paying the most on average at $3.47 and drivers in El Paso are paying the least at $3.25.

The national average is now $3.63. 

Issues at refineries and the approaching switchover to summer-blend gasoline have fueled the increase. 

“Even with the increases in fuel, Texans are still paying two cents less per gallon than what they were paying at this same time last year,” said AAA Texas/New Mexico Representative Doug Shupe.
