Austin March, Rally Calls For Immigration Reform
A group marched to the Texas Capitol this morning to call for immigration reform.
The Reform Immigration for Texas Alliance organized the march from Republic Square Park at 4th Street and Guadalupe Street and the rally afterwards.
"We want a fair pathway to citizenship for all of the 11 million undocumented people in our country," said Adriana Cadena, Reform Immigration for Texas Alliance statewide coordinator. "But we also know how unaccountable enforcement has hurt communities in our state. We want an immediate end to the militarization of the border and for Obama to stop the deportations."
About 500 people took part in the event.
