Recognize Good Posthumously Honors 'Legend' For Her Commitment To Central Texas

The Austin group, Recognize Good, gave $10,000 to a charity run by a Round Rock woman who died in September.

Laura Christine Orona was one of the founding members of Just Because-Ministries of Hope.

The Round Rock-based organization serves the economically disadvantaged through various giving projects during the holiday season.  Its website calls it a  community-based nonprofit organization committed to imparting on families the best of the human spirit: support, love and joy with the hopes that we help families on the path back to recovery.

Orona died in September of cancer.

The Austin group, Recognize Good, raises awareness about the good that surrounds communities in this area in the hopes of encouraging individuals to commit additional acts of kindness. In addition, the organization hopes to promote the importance of ethical behavior and practices in businesses and communities, likewise encouraging such behavior in all aspects of life.

It named Orona the year's recipient of the “Legend” award.  It goes to someone who embodies the core beliefs of RecognizeGood through his/her exemplary acts of good.
