Texas-Exes Help Ravens Win Super Bowl
In a dramatic Super Bowl, which included a 34-minute power outage delay, the Baltimore Ravens held off a San Francisco 49ers rally to win 34-31. It’s the second Super Bowl title in franchise history.
Ravens Quarterback Joe Flacco earned MVP honors after throwing for 287 yards and 3 touchdowns.
The game featured 4 former Horns, but in the end, the two playing for the Ravens will bring home a ring.
Ravens kicker Justin Tucker becomes the first Longhorn kicker since Raul Allegre in 1987 to win a Super Bowl title. His 10 points are most by any Longhorns player in a Super Bowl.
Tucker was perfect on the night, going 4-for-4 on extra points and 2-for-2 on field goal attempts. He hit a 38 yarder to give the Ravens a five point lead late in the 4th quarter.
Ravens defensive back Chykie Brown also will return to Austin with a ring.
Tucker and Brown join Priest Holmes as the only Longhorns to win Super Bowls with the Baltimore Ravens.
