Former WilCo DA's Fate Now In The Hands Of Judge

The fate of a former Williamson County district attorney accused of withholding evidence in a trial that wrongfully sent a man to prison for 25 years is now in the hands of a judge.

Michael Morton (pictured left) was convicted in the slaying of his wife Christine in 1987 but exonerated in 2011 following new DNA tests. A special court of inquiry on the matter wrapped up Friday afternoon.

Ken Anderson (pictured right), now a judge in Georgetown north of Austin, faces contempt of court and evidence tampering charges. Anderson says he did nothing wrong. He says the office he "ran was professional, it was competent."

During testimony Friday, his voice cracking, Anderson said, "We got it right as much as we humanly could."

The judge has decided to take case under advisement and could take up to five weeks to make a decision.
