UT Quarterback Connor Brewer Arrested
Texas Longhorn backup quarterback Connor Brewer arrested Saturday morning.
Travis County Jail paperwork confirms Conner Brewer was arrested Saturday morning by University of Texas Police for public intoxication and one traffic offense.
University of Texas Police Department says Brewer was stopped at the corner of 21st street and Speed way on the UT campus when he was observed stumbling and having a hard time maintaining his balance.
Rhonda Weldon, UT Police Public Information Officer, says Brewer was arrested for public intoxication and fictitious ID/DL.
Weldon says Brewer was not charged with minor in possession of alcohol.
Longhorns Head Coach Mack Brown released a statement Saturday.
"We're aware of Connor's situation and are disappointed anytime one of our players is accused of wrongdoing. We've talked with his family and will continue to monitor the situation. Following the completion of the legal process, we will do what's best for The University, Connor and the team. We've always prided ourselves in our program's family atmosphere, and this will be handled within our family."
Brewer was released from the Travis County Criminal Justice Center around 1 pm Saturday afternoon.
