2 Motorcycle Riders Hurt In Ex-Navy SEAL's Funeral Procession

Police say two motorcycle riders in ex-Navy SEAL sniper Chris Kyle's funeral procession from Midlothian to Austin were injured in a crash on I-35.

It happened near the Tahuaya Road intersection just south of Belton.

A spokesperson for the Belton Police Department says the two riders were conscious and alert when they were transported to a local hospital. Their current condition is unknown.

One of the buses in the procession stopped at the crash and military service members got out and provided aid to the injured riders, according to the spokesperson.

The cause of the crash is still under investigation.

The procession was delayed for only a few minutes. Its final destination is the Texas State Cemetery in East Austin.

Kyle was considered the deadliest sniper in the history of the U.S. military. His book "American Sniper" recounted his efforts in the war on terror and in Iraq.
