Bicyclist Struck, Seriously Injured By Car In West Travis County


A bicyclist was seriously injured Friday afternoon after being struck by a car on FM 2244.

It happened at around 12:12 p.m. near the Hwy 71 intersection.

A Starflight helicopter was requested to transport the 30-year-old male victim but it was later canceled.

A spokesperson for the Travis County Sheriff's Office says the man was found unconscious but breathing when deputies arrived.

He was transported to University Medical Center Brackenridge. His condition is unknown.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation.
