Dogs Alerted Family, Neighbors To Southwest Austin Fire


Austin firefighters received a call reporting the fire at 3720 Kandy Dr., near Brodie Lane and Convict Hill Road in Southwest Austin just after 3:30 a.m.

When crews arrived on the scene, they found heavy smoke and flames.
It’s believed the fire started in a shed in the back.

Homeowners were alerted to the fire by their dogs. Fire crews tell KEYE-TV they also rescued coy fish from a pond in the backyard.

Firefighters were able to keep the fire from spreading to other nearby homes. 

Investigators are working to determine what started the fire. No one was injured.
