Blanco Co. Officials Discover Deceased Man in Burning Truck

The Blanco County Sheriff's Office is investigating a death after discovering a man’s body in a burnt out truck.

Officials say the truck was located on property located off of Highway 301, East of Johnson City, by the property owners.

Fire crews responded to the scene after the property owners reported a truck on fire.

Firefighters extinguished the blaze and reportedly discovered a deceased man inside.

Blanco Co. officials say they are looking into whether the victim is a missing man, which was reported early Tuesday.

Investigators say the missing man was reported out of Wichita Falls, which is hours away.

"We are cooperating with the Wichita Falls Police Department investigation because the owner of the vehicle resides in Wichita Falls" says Lt. Bob Shelton with the Blanco County Sheriff's Department.

Officials are not saying the death is suspicious, but the exact cause is still being determined. Autopsy results will aid the investigation that is ongoing.
