Police Arrest Driver Of Fatal Hit and Run

Austin Police are investigating a fatal hit and run accident that occurred Friday night in East Austin.

According to police dispatchers, the accident occurred around 10:45 p.m. in the 7600 block of Old Manor Rd.

Officers say the collision involved two vehicles. The witnesses say the driver of vehicle one, a Hispanic male, fled the scene on foot and was picked up by small silver car that rode up on the scene a short time later.

Police say a woman in vehicle two was pronounced dead on the scene.

Police say the driver was located a short time later at a different location and was taken into custody.

The crash remains under investigation.
