Follow Pope Selection Using Conclave App
It's been nearly eight years since the conclave last selected a Pope, and since then, there have been a lot of changes in how the world communicates.
The conclave is surrounded in top-secret tradition. The only means of notifying the public of the Cardinal's Papal vote is the use of colored smoke sent through and old copper stove and chimney. But Logos Bible Software has designed a brand new way to track what’s happening in Rome. It’s called the Conclave App.
A working prototype was designed within 48 hours of Pope Benedict XVI’s resignation, and now the free downloadable app is available. It offers video from Vatican TV, a Twitter feed that follows #conclave and #Pope, bios of all the Cardinals and even gauges who is getting the most online buzz. It also provides information for every conclave dating back to 1061.
The app will have a short useful life however. The company says it does not plan to update the app once the conclave is complete, and the new Pope has been selected.
For more information and to download the app, visit the Apple's App Store.
