Pflugerville Gas Line Fixed; Evacuations Lifted

Update 2:40 p.m.: Gas line repaired. Evacuation lifted.

A gas line break has forced the evacuation of 10 homes in Pflugerville.

The city of Pflugerville says one of its crews hit a gas line in the Gattlinburg subdivision, near the intersection of Dessau Road and E. Pecan Street this morning. The homes evacuated are on Pigeon Forge and Sage Boot Drive.

Police and fire officials asked residents in the immediate vicinity to evacuate and those that were within homes to the north of the incident to stay indoors while the repairs were made to the line.

Atmos Energy, the gas company, is on the scene currently and repairing the line.

According to Pflugerville Fire Public Information Officer Tim Wallace the wind will help dissipate the gas.

It is expected to take several hours to fix.
