UT, TCU Students Hurt In Alabama Deck Collapse
Six students from two Texas colleges were injured in a deck collapse in Gulf Shores, Ala.
The collapse happened Monday afternoon at a beach house.
Five people, students at the University of Texas and TCU, went to the hospital. They have non-life threatening injuries. They were celebrating spring break.
WPMI-TV reports witness accounts vary as to how many people were on the deck when it collapsed, ranging from 15 up to 50. A family renting the beach house next door said there were “easily 40 people” on the deck when it gave way.
Gulf Shores is about 50 miles southeast of Mobile, Ala.
