Woman Killed In Motorcycle Crash On SH 130


Austin police say a woman was died Wednesday evening after succumbing to injuries she suffered in a motorcycle crash on SH 130 earlier that day.

Investigators say 20-year-old Sierrah Kahookele was riding a 2008 Kawasaki Ninja motorcycle at around 6 a.m. in the 2800 Block of SH 130 on the northbound frontage road when, for unknown reasons, the motorcycle veered off the roadway and ended up in a drainage ditch.

Kahookele was transported by Austin-Travis County EMS to University Medical Center Brackenridge with life threatening injuries. She was pronounced dead later that day at around 4:40 p.m.

This is Austin's 18th fatal traffic crash and the 19th traffic fatality of 2013. At this time in 2012, there were 15 traffic fatalities.
